Have Your Say About Running A Small Business

If you’re in business you have the chance to set the agenda for the upcoming Small Business Week.

For once, someone actually wants to know what entrepreneurs and businesses that employ less than 250 people really think about the recession and the quality of financial and advice provided by the government, councils and related organisations like Business Link. BT and a number of other interested parties like the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) and Growing Business magazine sponsor small Business Week.

Your chance to take part is the Business Pulse 2009 survey – a free online survey wanting entrepreneurs to express their opinions about online trading, funding and government aid among other issues.

The results will be debated at Small Business Week discussions, that are just one of several events with entrepreneurs in mind for the week starting October 19.

BCC director of policy said: “Who better to set the agenda for the week than small businesses themselves? Despite the climate, we’ve seen resilience and innovation among smaller firms that will undoubtedly see them in a better position for the upturn when it comes.

“The Business Pulse will provide vital information on the issues facing small firms during a difficult economic climate.

“It will help us ensure that small businesses, from start-ups right through to 250-person firms, have the support and guidance they need to boost employment and drive the UK recovery.”

The survey hopes to gather comments and information from at least 10,000 of the UK’s 4.7 million small firms.

To take part in the survey and to find out what events are on in your area during Small Business Week, go to the Small Business Week web site at: http://www.sbw09.co.uk/

As a bonus, everyone who responds to the survey will go in to a draw for a trip for two to the Winter Olympics next year at Vancouver, Canada.
