Glasgow and Birmingham are in Line for the Corporation Tax Roadshow

It is always important to consult your accountant with any questions or queries you may have about any aspect of taxation. This is particularly the case with Corporation Tax if your company is set up to pay this form of tax when your accounts are completed each tax year.

To this end, HM Revenue and Customs have created a series of roadshows to help people understand all aspects of Corporation Tax. Company tax returns will be required to be filed online from April 2011 onwards, and the roadshows are aiming to help people understand how the new changes will work.

The next stops for the roadshows are in Glasgow and Birmingham. The Hampden Park Stadium in Letherby Drive is the location for the Glasgow roadshow, and this takes place on Wednesday 15th September.  The Birmingham event is on the 3rd November (also a Wednesday) at Birmingham City Football Club. This is at the St Andrew’s Stadium.

The events are being held free of charge but you should call 0845 603 2691 to speak to the bookings team prior to attending. They will be able to give you more information about the event.

I think it is an excellent idea to hold roadshows like this. In fact I would like to see more roadshows held by HMRC for all aspects of taxation, and not just when major changes are applied to the system. Many people will be able to talk to their accountants for advice, but having roadshows to attend as well would be an excellent idea.

Of course you may always consult us here at St Matthew if you need any further tax advice.
